Sapiens UP: a day in the life of students of our democratic school

Who said that learning should be strict and boring? Welcome to the Sapiens UP democratic school, where every day is a new adventure and learning is a chance to do something incredible! We invite you to take a virtual tour, because in this post we will tell you how everything happens within our walls and why our students enjoy learning.

Welcome to a new format school!

The Sapiens UP Democratic School is located in a picturesque area of Warsaw between green parks and modern buildings. To get to the school, it will take 10 minutes by public transport from the city centre or 10 minutes on foot from the Western Railway Station.

When you cross the threshold of the Sapiens UP democratic school, you enter a bright and spacious building with a modern interior designed specifically for education and symbolising the spirit of freedom. We have no fixed classrooms. We use the whole school for study, recreation and entertainment. But there are classrooms that can be changed upon request. For example, we can adapt the space for students' project work, testing, optional classes, etc.

Basic part: learning with pleasure

From 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., our students are immersed in learning, which includes seven learning blocks. Four of them last before lunch, and three after. Every minute at the democratic Sapiens UP school is used wisely, with the opportunity to focus on a variety of activities. From independent and project work to casual communication, language classes, reflective games and exercises, our students have an interesting and busy schedule every day.

The space of the Sapiens UP democratic school is adapted to the needs of students. If it does not interfere with others, you can organise your free time as you wish - whether to relax alone or to communicate with friends. In addition, there is a separate quiet room where everyone can recuperate and concentrate.

And when it's time for a snack, the Sapiens UP democratic school has everything you need. In the cafeteria area, you can warm up your lunch or choose something tasty and healthy from the food court. The main thing here is not only to study, but also to enjoy every minute of your stay in this special place.

Optional part: unlocking potential

The doors of the Sapiens UP Democratic School do not close after the official part of the programme. From 16:00 to 19:00, optional classes are held that offer many opportunities for development and creativity.

Here, everyone will find something that suits their preferences: the opportunity to take part in a debate and expand their communication skills, play a game of chess or discover their acting talent in theatre circles. And for those who are fond of music, there is an offer to learn to play the guitar or join a dance class.

The Sapiens UP democratic school has a career guidance club for students, which meets every Monday. Here, teenagers can learn more about various professions and decide what they want to become ‘when they grow up’.

Although the optional classes are not compulsory, the programme is so interesting and engaging that most students find their hobbies here and enjoy spending time with friends. This is a place where everyone can discover something new and gain unforgettable experiences that will later become the foundation for future achievements.

Time well spent

So, every day at the democratic school Sapiens UP is an extremely interesting experience. The educational process is based on the principles of

  • active participation of students in the educational process and decision-making;
